Ms. Marcus is an associate in the Environmental Law Department. Ms. Marcus has more than 10 years experience with consulting firms and law firms assisting in matters involving site remediation, cost recovery, insurance coverage, compliance and regulatory issues, natural resource damages and municipal land use law. In both a legal and technical capacity, Ms. Marcus has extensive knowledge of state and federal regulations, including the Technical Regulations for Site Remediation, the Spill Compensation and Control Act, the Industrial Site Recovery Act, Brownfield and Contaminated Site Remediation Act, Water Pollution Control Act, the Clean Water Act, the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act and Land Use Regulations.

As an environmental consultant, Ms. Marcus provided support at various levels for the investigation and remediation of contaminated residential, commercial and industrial sites. Ms. Marcus conducted numerous due diligence and preliminary site investigations for industrial sites primarily located in New Jersey as well as sites nationwide and conducted sampling of various media, including soils, groundwater, surface water and sediment. Ms. Marcus provided regulatory support to both national and international industrial facilities, including interpretation of federal, state, local and provincial regulations to ensure regulatory compliance.

Prior to joining McManimon & Scotland, Ms. Marcus maintained an environmental legal and consulting practice and was an associate with the law firm of Purcell, Ries, Shannon, Mulcahy & O’Neill. Ms. Marcus was employed as an environmental consultant prior to attending law school.  Ms. Marcus is active is numerous environmental organizations, including the New Jersey State and American Bar Associations, the National Brownfields Association and is a Member of the Morristown Environmental Commission.
