Anne Marie Rizzuto, Esq. is Of Counsel to the law firm of McManimon & Scotland. She practices in the areas of redevelopment law, general municipal law, and other public entity representation. As general counsel, Ms. Rizzuto has gained extensive experience in many areas of public entity practice, including drafting and passage of ordinances; attendance and handling of public meetings; representation regarding public records requests; day-to-day representation of fire, police, building, DPW, tax, and administrative departments; direct handling of varied litigation as well as supervision of outside counsel; overseeing environmental claims and insurance coverage representation; drafting, consultation, and filing of COAH Third Round Filings; overseeing municipal issues related to Special Improvement Districts, Library Boards, Boards of Education, and Planning Board and Board of Adjustment applications and appeals.
She has experience in drafting and overseeing public bids for sale or lease or real property; construction and purchase bids; indemnity and other agreements, and position papers on municipal matters.
In solo practice before joining the firm, Ms. Rizzuto has gained wide experience and is a former Certified Civil Trial Attorney. She has represented applicants and boards for zoning and land use matters, liquor license applications, and clients seeking special education services from boards of education. She has negotiated and drafted many types of agreements and transactions for individuals, estates, and commercial entities, including condominium association deeds, bylaws and public offerings, and shareholder agreements.
Litigation experience includes probate matters, public bidding disputes, construction and surety disputes, and discovery and trial of many varied criminal and civil matters.
Ms. Rizzuto graduated cum laude from Montclair State University with a double major in English and Political Science and received her juris doctorate degree from Seton Hall University Law School in 1986. She has been admitted to the practice of law in the State of New Jersey since 1986.
